Hardcore Gamers Suffer from Hardcore Memory Loss

IGN has announced that Nintendo is building in spoilers to "New Super Mario Bros. Wii", as well as future games. If a spot is too difficult, the game will show you how to complete it. Predictably, forums and blogs have been lit up by hardcore gamers lamenting the death of the gaming industry because Nintendo allows gamers to cheat.

Hrm, where have we seen this before? I wonder...

"A warp zone?! That's cheating built into the game, first they release a casual-friendly controller instead of a real gamer's joystick & keyboard, now they let you cheat! You can just go to any level you want, how can they call Mario a game if you dont have to play it, man oh man, NES is for babies!! 8-bit grafx suck 32-bit Atari ST RULEZZ!!"

Hardcore gamers: giving us all something to laugh at since 1985

  1. What? The warp zones were a secret area in the game... you don't just press start and then get to world 8. You are getting desperate Fry, although with Natal coming out pretty much making the Wii useless, I can see why.

  2. hahaha Natal coming out hahaha

  3. Natal will *never* be released. Not as you saw it at E3. It's going to be seriously toned down if it's ever released at all.

  4. Warp zones was a built-in cheat system, which was unheard of at the time.

20 years later we should expect cheat systems to become more advanced, and thanks to another Nintendo innovation they are. AI smart enough to beat itself - cool.

  5. It's not more advanced. You press a button, and the game beats itself. It's lame! You don't have to find a secret area, you don't have to enter a secret code. You click a button.

  6. hahhahaha, the exact same criticisms of the warp zones. "the game beats itself"

    And history repeats itself.

  7. Are you mentally handicapped? I am serious. I am worried about you.

Warp Zones is not the game beating itself. It is a secret built into the game. And you can't use it whenever you want. You can't just press a button and warp to world 8.

  8. Kudos, you've realized they're not exactly similar systems. I'm very proud of you.

Now try looking at the big picture and tell me what you get.

  9. fryfat, don't take this the wrong way, but you're a complete douchebag and you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. you write poorly and your obsession with the lamest of the video game consoles, one that is really only fit for children, is hilarious. LOL you're a grown man and you act like this?

  10. agreed the wii is a joke, as are you sir. if any system is for a casual gamer it is the wii, and your extream hate of the ps3 is just a joke, the reason the ps3 does bad in sales is poor marketing, free online, built in wifi, bluray...you also talk about HD gaming, again someone backin the wii has no clue of HD gaming, Nintendo lost its credibility when many years ago, the sales are up because its a gimmick and its cheap, same reason the 360 is beatin the ps3, because its cheap. When a parent buys a system for their kids they will pick the cheap one 9 outta 10 times. me i take pride in my toys so as you play your uber awesome wii i will enjoy my ps3 on my big ol tv.
Keep up the good work, im always up for a good laugh, damn wiitards.

  11. Fryfat, I think what people are moaning about is doesn't pressing the button kind of defeat the object of a game? I mean we play games to give each other a challange or to have fun. Not watch a movie if you get my drift :).

  12. P.S I understand the power the button has it will be great for people who have little time to play a game and want to just play through te fun bits etc.
